A gun club that wants to build a shooting range in the town of Rib Falls still has a chance to get a permit but faces opposition from the Rib Falls Town Board and residents.

The Central Wisconsin Conservation Club bought 70 acres on Fifth Avenue in Rib Falls in mid-2011 with the intent of using the land as a recreational area and building a private shooting range. The range would include two 100-yard and one 200-yard big-bore rifle ranges, an archery range and a pistol range. The property includes a six-acre open field and 64 wooded acres in which the range would be built.
