Board extends Geegan's contract another year

Questions remain about salary overpayment

Two weeks after the revelation that the Marshfield School District had been overpaying Superintendent Peg Geegan's contracted salary, the School Board unanimously voted to extend her contract for another year.

Geegan's contract, which will run through the 2013-14 school year, will remain essentially unchanged from the one she signed in 2011. She will receive a base salary of $130,000 plus an additional $3,000 for credits earned.

School Board President Tim Deets said the district has not determined the exact amount that she was overpaid, but he is hopeful to reach a repayment agreement ...
