New P.J. Jacobs principal excited to join school

Jon Vollendorf said he was excited to take on the challenge of director of secondary education with the Stevens Point Area Public School District in August 2012.

But a desire to get back into a school setting ultimately drove him to become the newest principal at P.J. Jacobs Junior High. This week, the School Board approved his transfer, and he will begin July 1. Vollendorf will replace Dan Dobratz, who is retiring after serving as principal since 2006.
