Each day this week, Daily Herald Media will profile an angler competing in the 2013 World Ice Fishing Championship on the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir near Mosinee. Watch for live coverage of the tournament coming this weekend.

Name: Jaak Visnapuu

Hometown: Tallinn, Estonia

Occupation: Flooring business owner

Past experience: Visnapuu also participated in the World Championship held in Rhinelander in 2010.

Most exotic locale he has fished: "I've been to Finland, Latvia, Slovakia, all around Europe."

How central Wisconsin compares with his home turf: "We ice fish on lakes, rivers and the sea. We drive five kilometers out onto the sea to fish."

Largest fish he has ever caught: A 16.3 kg (35.8 pounds) salmon in Estonia.
