Gov. Scott Walker visited Brown County Friday to promote a transportation budget he says will increase funding for major road projects and freight rail upgrades, but won't increase the state's gas tax or vehicle-registration fees.

Walker said his transit budget would invest $6.4 billion, including $824 million in new money; he did not discuss the sources of the new money except to say that some of it would include "various sources," including bonding.
