Omaha-based retailer Gordmans is expected to build a new store in Ashwaubenon.

The Ashwaubenon Village Board gave final approval to the project earlier this week. The retailer is expected to build near the corner of Holmgren Way and Cormier Road next to Ashley Furniture HomeStore, said Village President Mike Aubinger.

Gordmans is described as "an apparel and home decor retailer" offering products at discounted prices. It operates 83 stores in 18 states, including two in Appleton, according to the company website.

Construction is expected to start in the spring with a projected opening by fall, Aubinger said. The building is expected to be more than 50,000 square feet.
