I knew it would happen someday, but didn't think it would be this soon.

My family moved to Kewaunee in 1949 when my brother and I were just kids. My dad opened a retail clothing store on Harrison Street, and the family lived in a rented home on Wisconsin Avenue, and later, Rose Street.

In 1951, my dad purchased the store building at 406 Milwaukee St. from Mose Belleau, a baker. Mose moved his business to a newly built building across the street and my dad moved his clothing store into the newly purchased downstairs and his family upstairs. ...
