Orion lays off personnel

'Less than 10' cut from administration; no manufacturing positions affected

Orion Energy Systems laid off "less than 10" administrative personnel today, according to Scott Jensen, chief financial officer. No manufacturing positions were eliminated.

The power technology company's layoff was preceded by a November re-organization that included cutting 23 positions out of about 260 in administrative and manufacturing support positions.

However, Jensen said in the last several months four sales people have been added to Orion, a publicly traded firm since December 2007 and founded in Plymouth in 1996. ...
