Woodson's interception totals soared with Packers

Feb. 15, 2013

Charles Woodson earned four Pro Bowl berths during his eight-year career in Oakland, but it wasn't until he signed as a free agent with the Packers in 2006 that his interception statistics took off.

Woodson had 17 interceptions in 106 games played with the Raiders, compared to 38 interceptions in 100 regular-season games with the Packers.

Nine of Woodson's 11 career interception returns for a touchdown came with the Packers.

Woodson has produced at least one interception in 15 of his NFL seasons.

Woodson was drafted fourth overall in 1998 by Oakland and was voted to the Pro Bowl his first four years in the league.

His three all-pro seasons came in 1999 (AP), 2000 (Sports Illustrated) and 2011 (Sporting News).

Woodson signed with the Packers on May 1, 2006, and became the sixth Heisman Trophy winner to play for the Packers, following Bruce Smith (1945-48), Paul Hornung (1957-62, 64-66), Ty Detmer (1992-95), Desmond Howard (1996, 99) and Danny Wuerffel (2000).

He missed 10 games in 2005 due to a broken leg, and nine games in 2012 with a broken collarbone. He has played in 13 or more games in 12 of his 15 seasons in the NFL.
