Cancer grant to help research at Marshfield Clinic

Money from St. Baldrick's allows Marshfield Clinic to add coordinator

Marshfield Clinic recently added a second clinical research coordinator to the pediatric hematology/oncology team using a $41,658 grant received from the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

The new coordinator, Nicole Kattre, will help connect childhood cancer patients to clinical trials, which are designed to test cancer diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention methods.

"Clinical trials are available nationwide ... and are really sometimes the best bet for children to find a cure or treat the cancers they have," said Marshfield Clinic development officer Pete Schmeling. ...
