Bars and restaurants in downtown Green Bay could face new rules and guidelines under a strategy city officials are mulling to make downtown safer for workday commuters and nighttime revelers.

Among the policies being considered: a prohibition on bartenders drinking on the job, a mandate for customer video surveillance, a program to ban troublemakers from all establishments and a push for more outdoor patio seating.

After city officials previously refused to disclose details of the proposals being considered, Press-Gazette Media obtained a copy through the Wisconsin Open Records ...
