UWGB update: Sophomore guard Cole Stefan's status is uncertain after he got hit in the face in the second half of Friday's 66-59 win at Cleveland State. Stefan was taken to a Cleveland-area hospital for an examination after the game and was released with scratches and swelling around his eye. Wardle said Stefan did not sustain a concussion and will be a game-time decision. ? With three conference games remaining, the Phoenix is in a third-place tie with Wright State, but UWGB would lose the tiebreaker because it lost both regular-season games against the Raiders. In that stretch, he has scored 43 of his 55 points after halftime of each game. He had 11 of his 16 against Wright State after halftime, 13 of his 16 against Detroit after halftime and 19 of his 23 against Cleveland State after halftime. In the last two games, he has scored or assisted on 19 of UWGB's 26 second-half baskets.
Youngstown State update: A win would move the Penguins into a three-way tie for third place with UWGB and Wright State. The Penguins have finished higher than sixth place only once - a tie for fourth in 2006-07 - since joining the Horizon League in the 2000-01 season and has posted a winning record in conference play only once (10-8 last season) since joining the conference. ? YSU is coming off a 94-80 win over UW-Milwaukee on Friday, when Kendrick Perry led the Penguins with 28 points. Perry ranks second in the league in scoring (17.1 ppg). ? The Penguins made a season-high 13 3-pointers for the second straight game. They are averaging 7.4 3s made per game in Horizon League play to rank second in that category. ? YSU ranks second in the Horizon League in scoring (72.1 ppg). ? Senior forward Damian Eargle leads the league in blocked shots (3.3 per game), while UWGB's Alec Brown is second (1.8).
