Jim Zima bowling column: Olson narrowly misses her second 800 series

A missed 10-pin kept Sue Olson from becoming only the third woman in the history of the Green Bay Area USBC Women's Bowling Association to record two 800 series.

Olson opened her series in the Ashwaubenon Thunderwhales League on Feb. 7 with a pair of 279 games and struggled in her final game, shooting a 223 and coming up 19 pins short with a 781.

The 781 is the highest score in the GBWBA this season and is the highest in the association since Olson bowled an 810 series nearly two years ago on April 2, 2011. ...
