10 YEARS AGO: A former Mid-State Technical College teacher is making a big difference in a South American country. Lyman Echola of Marshfield teaches English to 130 students at Ecuador's Universdad Tecnica de Cotopaxi in Latacunga.

Cassie Spindler has been a cheerleader for the Straford High School's wrestling squad for the past two years. This year, she has joined the team on the mat as the only girl in the sport.

25 YEARS AGO: Several students were named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at the University of Wisconsin Center, Marshfield/Wood County. Straight "A" averages were earned by Sharon Bonnar and Judith Strack, both of Marshfeld, Victoria Burt of Stratford, and Maureen Harder of Greenwood.

50 YEARS AGO: Two new officers began work with the Marshfield Police Department. The new men are Terrance Rhodes, 24, and Alfred Pautzke, 27.

75 YEARS AGO: Marking its 26th anniversary, the Farmers Cooperative Produce Co. hosted more than 700 stockholders and other guests at a banquet served at the Eagles hall. Reviewing the year the company transacted more than $263,000 of business.
