Marshfield Area United Way is looking for participants to attend Disaster Volunteer Reception Center, or VRC, training this coming March. The training is a two-day commitment that will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 5 and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 7 at Mid-State Technical College, Room 126. The trainings are designed to teach participants how to screen and orient spontaneous volunteers when a disaster strikes. Upon completion, participants will be asked to become part of a Disaster Volunteer Reception Center, or VRC, team that will be mobilized after a disaster occurs.

This training is at no cost to the participants and is part of the Wisconsin Emergency Volunteer Management Project grant funded by the Department of Homeland Security.

Dinner will be provided on the evening of March 5, snacks will be provided on the evening of March 7. Please RSVP to Marshfield Area United Way by Feb. 25. You can RSVP by calling 715-384-9992 or by sending an email to unitedway@tznet.com. Please visit www.marshfieldareaunitedway.org for more information or to download a flier.
