United Way column: Allocating your donations to meet community needs

Driving past our United Way campaign thermometer, have you ever wondered, "How does the United Way allocate all of the funds raised during campaign to meet the needs of the community?"

In this column, I would like to explain our funding allocation process. Currently, our United Way campaign is winding down and we will be announcing the final figures soon. It will certainly be exciting to allocate nearly $2 million to programs serving our community!

This is a very busy time of year for our Planning and Allocations Committee, indeed. Great consideration and deliberation over program funding ...
