Semitrailer destroyed, mechanic shop damaged in fire

Feb. 19, 2013

GRAND CHUTE — A Tuesday morning fire destroyed a semitrailer inside a mechanic shop at a Grand Chute business.

Grand Chute assistant fire chief Mike Debruler said heavy smoke coming out of one of the buildings at Drainage Industries, 510 Lilas Drive, around 4:30 a.m. led firefighters to the burning semitrailer.

The fire destroyed the semi and caused heavy smoke and fire damage to the mechanic shop, along with minor smoke damage throughout the building.

Five fire departments and two support agencies were called to assist Grand Chute Fire Department.

The fire is under investigation.
