Sales of existing homes got off to a good start in January, suggesting another strong spring and summer for the recovering home real estate market.

The Wisconsin Realtors Association on Monday reported sales of existing homes statewide were up 18.3 percent in January when compared with the same time a year ago. A total of 3,446 closed sales were recorded across the state in January, up from 2,912 in January 2012.
