Mercury Marine wins advertising award

Mercury Marine has won an award from the Marine Marketers of America (MMA) for Best Regional/Local Advertising.

"This campaign combined a variety of media and means to reach boaters in the selected markets," said Jon Mathews, Mercury Marine's director of global branding. "We combined traditional media such as print, outdoor and radio with targeted online ads. This effort was supplemented with neighborhood marketing such as ice machine wraps at convenience stores near marinas and other places with high boater traffic."

Consumers responding to the ads were greeted by experts from Mercury Marine.

The campaign also included boat demonstration events and a dedicated boating community Website. The award-winning campaign was produced by GS Design of Milwaukee.
