One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 26 Tuesday morning.

A box truck was traveling north on Highway 26 between Cottonwood Avenue and County Trunk Z at 6:35 a.m. when the truck lost control and collided with a southbound silver sedan, Winnebago Sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Gruss said. The roads were icy at the time of the crash.

The driver of the box truck was treated and released on scene with no injuries; however, the driver the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Wisconsin State Patrol completed an accident reconstruction and the crash remains under investigation. Icy roads and weather conditions appear to be factors, Gruss said.

No names have been released pending notification of family.

The crash closed Highway 26 between Cottonwood Avenue and County Trunk Z for nearly three hours.
