Travelers and taxpayers should beware of short-term home and apartment rentals

The Wisconsin Bed & Breakfast Association (WBBA) is the only quality-certified organization of its kind in the state. It was founded in 1987 and has seen travel trends come and go, but the trend of homeowners and apartment dwellers renting out spare rooms without a license is particularly troubling to the group. The Association is calling on local and state officials to regulate those rentals, by enforcing the existing licensing for lodging properties and the existing tax collection requirements.

WBBA's stance is in line with that of the Professional Association of Innkeepers ...
