Southern Door alumni basketball game planned

Southern Door High School graduates and their spouses are invited to participate in an alumni basketball game Friday, April 5, at the school.

Teams will be divided by year of graduation; odds versus evens. Warmups start at 6 p.m., followed the game at 7.

Entry fee is $20 per player, with all proceeds benefitting Southern Door's baseball program. In addition to the game, there will be 3-point and half-court shooting contests.

To register, contact Dave Neinas at (920) 559-7217. Registration deadline is April 1.

Runner off to fast start for college team

Forestville's Lucy Schmitz, a freshman at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., won the mile run and placed second in the 3,000-meter run Saturday at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track Meet.

Schmitz was named the conference's indoor track Freshman of the Year for her performances. Schmitz is a graduate of Roncalli High School in Manitowoc.
