A driver traveling more than 100 mph on northbound U.S. 41 fled a State Patrol officer during a brief chase Wednesday afternoon that started near Breezewood Lane in Neenah.

The chase began about 12:20 p.m. when a state trooper attempted to stop a blue Hyundai Tiburon for speeding, said Lt. Tony Burrell. As another officer set up stop sticks farther north on the highway, the car's driver exited at College Avenue.

Burrell said officers decided not to continue the chase to avoid putting the public at risk. No one was injured during the chase

Burrell said the State Patrol has the car's license plate number and is investigating the incident.
