When Adam Habeck visited Green Bay SCORE almost a year ago, he thought his plan to buy an existing chiropractic business would be a fairly simple matter: Come to terms with the seller, write a business plan and obtain bank financing.

Little did he know at the time that it would be a much more difficult process. Obtaining financing was quite a challenge.

"The biggest issue with lenders is that I was looking for financing and buying accounts receivable, equipment and goodwill," Habeck said. "There was no real estate that they could use as collateral." ...
