Local school officials weigh in on student software controversy

If a decision made earlier this month by the Wisconsin Department of Administration is not reversed, five of the six school districts in Manitowoc County will have to change to a new student information system.

"We have so many other things going on right now," said Two Rivers District Administrator Randy Fredrikson. "Enough's enough."

Fredrikson called the timing "horrible" in light of the many educational changes under way and coming soon in Wisconsin, such as Common Core State Standards, School Report Cards, teacher effectiveness, and new student assessments. ...
