Manitowoc, Sheboygan library systems weigh merger

The Board of Trustees from the Manitowoc-Calumet and Eastern Shores library systems have agreed to a formal investigation of a possible merger of the two.

Cherilyn Stewart, director of the Manitowoc Public Library, and Jeff Dawson, director of the Lester Public Library, said Wednesday any such merger might have significant benefits for patrons in the Lakeshore area.

Economies of scale might translate into additional services, such as increased digital content, Stewart said. ...
