Sheboygan, Manitowoc library systems weigh merger

The boards of the Eastern Shores and Manitowoc-Calumet library systems have agreed to a formal investigation of a possible merger of the two.

The merger would be the first of its kind in Wisconsin and would combine two of the smallest library systems in the state. Together, the two would become the sixth-largest out of the 16 remaining systems.

"We're really looking forward to this possible venture," said Interim Director of the Sheboygan-based Eastern Shores system David Weinhold. "If the merger were to occur, it could mean better resources to make the resources that we currently provide ...
