County Board delays landfill decision until April

The Kewaunee County Board held off a decision about closing the county landfill for another two months during its regular monthly meeting Feb. 19.

Supervisors previously delayed a final decision in December, tabling a resolution that would have declared the county will not pursue a license for Phase III of the landfill. That decision means the county would close the facility when it reaches capacity in four or five years.

"This is a very important and difficult decision," Supervisor Larry Kirchman said. ...
