Girls basketball: Wolves, Storm draw first-round byes

Algoma's girls basketball team (19-2, 12-1 Packerland Conference) cruised to a 69-39 victory at Gibraltar (9-12, 2-11) on Feb. 14. It was a high-scoring game for the Wolves; the 69 points tied their single-game high this season.

"Our offense played really well against Gibraltar. We created some points off of the press, made some easy baskets, and we passed the ball around efficiently," said Algoma head coach Mark Zastrow.

The victory was the Wolves' 18th in a row against Gibraltar, a streak that dates back to the 2004-05 season. ...
