Gag order lifted in Sheboygan Falls murder case

A Sheboygan judge lifted a gag order Friday in a murder trial involving two Sheboygan teens, a little more than a week after instructing attorneys to not discuss the case with the media or public.

Sheboygan County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Van Akkeren issued the gag order during a Feb. 14 hearing over concerns that pre-trial publicity could taint potential jurors.

Van Akkeren was asked to reconsider during the late-afternoon hearing Friday and ultimately lifted the order but not without expressing some reluctance. ...
