Many brides- and grooms-to-be this year are following their hearts to make sure their wedding day features what's important to them.

Whether it's a destination wedding, a specially designed gown or an individualized approach to menswear, the major trend is to not be trendy, said Sue Diehl, owner of the New London-based Visuelle Productions, which held a Wedding Spectacular on Sunday at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in downtown Appleton.
