A 21-year-old Green Bay man was arrested early Monday after a 90-minute standoff with police on the city's near west side.

Officers responded at 11:19 p.m. Sunday to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Elmore Street, police said in a statement.

At the scene, the suspect allegedly refused to cooperate with police demands to leave the residence, armed himself with several edged weapons and made suicidal comments, which included committing suicide by cop if officers tried to arrest him.

Police negotiated with the man by phone and from an armored vehicle once the man came to the front porch. Officers later used a Taser device to subdue the man and take him into custody. The suspect and an officer sustained minor injuries during the incident, police said.

Police are seeking four criminal charges, including disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
