Boys basketball performance of the week
Pulaski junior Luke Van Lanen made a couple of layups in the final minute of overtime, including the game-winner with 8 seconds remaining to give the Red Raiders a 44-43 victory over Ashwaubenon in a WIAA Division 2 regional final on Feb. 23.
Girls basketball performance of the week
Pulaski freshman Mariah Szymanski posted 10 of her game-high 21 points in the first quarter to get the Raiders off to a fast start in a 44-34 victory over Bay Port on Feb. 21.
Honorable mention boys performances
Green Bay Notre Dame senior Ben Bobinski went 9-for-10 from the field in scoring 24 points in addition to making four steals and three assists in a 75-63 D2 regional quarterfinal victory against Green Bay West on Feb. 19.
Seymour junior Sandy Cohen tallied 15 of his game-high 30 points in the third quarter to power the Thunder to a 67-46 D2 semifinal win against Notre Dame on Feb. 22 and followed it up by scoring 18 of his 25 points in the first half of a 62-61 regional final victory over Plymouth on Feb. 23.
Wrightstown' Evan Kahler hit two free throws to tie the game with 4.8 seconds left in regulation and five more in overtime to help the Tigers upend Denmark 66-56 in a D3 regional semifinal.
Honorable mention girls performances
Shawano's Whitney Boda scored 17 of her 28 points in the first quarter of a 56-30 win at Luxemburg-Casco on Feb. 21.
Green Bay Notre Dame junior Allison LeClaire totaled 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block in a 71-43 victory at Ashwaubenon on Feb. 21.
Bay Port senior Chelsea Nooker tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 37-34 victory against Green Bay Southwest on Feb. 19.
