While the rest of the Oscars-loving (or hating) world is debating whether Seth MacFarlane all-out failed or halfway-excelled at hosting duties last night, I'm not looking to get in on that action. He seemed like a non-factor to me. Didn't love him, didn't hate him.

I'm placing the blame for what seemed like a lackluster, uninspired, 31/2-hour broadcast that never found anything even resembling an entertaining pace until the last 90 minutes on the show's producers and/or writers, who just didn't seem to put their hearts into it this year.
