A construction crew on Thursday erects the structure that will become the main lobby area of the new 35,000-square-foot Music Education and Performance Center at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family in Manitowoc. The facility will provide practice and performance space for the Silver Lake College music program and the Manitowoc Conservatory of Music. C.D. Smith Construction Services Inc. of Fond du Lac is the general contractor.

Progress on the construction of the new Music Education and Performance Center at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family continues on schedule despite the snow and cold, according to a news release from the school. Both sections of the building - the "main house" or auditorium, and the academic and office portion of the building to the east - are now fully enclosed so contractors can continue working on components that are temperature-dependent, such as concrete, sprayed insulation, exterior stone application, drywall and painting.
