Battle on Bago tourney gives back in a big way

Thousands of fishermen ventured out onto Lake Winnebago and the Upper River Lakes Saturday for the sixth annual Battle on Bago fishing tournament.

While raffle and fishing winners walked away with prizes totaling more than $130,000, Wisconsin youths and others supporting conservation efforts throughout the state are the ones who benefit most from the event.

In 2007, five Oshkosh Southwest Rotarians founded Battle on Bago with the mission statement "For Kids & Conservation." Over the next five years, the event raised nearly $300,000 to support children's outdoor activities, ...
