Wisconsin hospitals have lost nearly $17 million in Medicare reimbursements over the past couple of years because of an arcane provision in health care law.

Some call it the "Bay State Boondoggle." Others have dubbed it the "Massachusetts Fix." And there are those who say simply it's the "Nantucket Effect."

But as far as Wisconsin hospital officials are concerned, the inequity is the same whatever the name. They want a rule change, and they're not alone. ...
