Spud City Sales owner charged with not paying for potato shipments

The owner of a potato brokerage firm will make an initial appearance in Portage County Circuit Court today on charges of not paying farmers for shipments of potatoes.

Thomas Lundgren, owner of Spud City Sales of Stevens Point, is charged with nine counts of felony theft after investigators with the Portage County Sheriff's Office say the farmers he received shipments of potatoes from were never paid.

Payment for the shipments were supposed to have been paid within 10 to 30 days from the date of shipment, according to the criminal complaint. ...
