The D.C. Everest boys basketball team expected to be regional champions. The path to the regional crown was a bit bumpier than expected, though.

Known for their defensive prowess, the Evergreens found themselves down 10 points in the second half of their WIAA Division 1 regional final matchup last Saturday with Wisconsin Valley Conference foe Marshfield.

But the Evergreens, not perceived as an offensive juggernaut, did not panic. They executed offensively and their defense helped spark a comeback claiming the school's third straight regional title. ...
