Murder-for-hire trial may go to jury Wednesday

The case against a 62-year-old Ripon man accused of hiring a hit man to murder one man and injure another is expected to go to the jury following closing arguments Wednesday morning.

A jury of five women and seven men listened to five days of testimony in the case against Lee Stellmacher. Witnesses who testified include an Oshkosh police officer who portrayed an undercover hit man during the investigation, a special agent from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Criminal Investigations Unit and the two alleged victims.
