Dr. Marianne Niles, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, will be the guest speaker at the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Fond du Lac's meeting on March 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Dr. Niles has been employed for the past 19 years at the Fond du Lac County Department of Community Programs in the Outpatient Clinic, providing psychotherapy and psychological evaluations primarily for adults. Part of her work has included counseling women who have experienced post-partum depression, the topic of this month's presentation.

Many new moms experience the "baby blues" after childbirth. Some new mothers experience a more severe, long lasting form of depression known as Post-partum Depression, which is a serious mental health problem. Fortunately, depression is a highly treatable condition. Dr. Niles will offer insight into the symptoms, causes, risk factors, treatments, ways to cope and the benefits of support.

The meeting will be held at Friendship Corner Drop-In Center located at 27 Third St. Easiest access is through the parking lot on Second Street located between the US Bank Drive-Through and Personal Care Florist.

Optional potluck will be held at 5:30 p.m. A brief membership meeting will conclude the event.
