Let your coasters do the talking. The Saturday, March 16, Crafternoon project - Scrabble Tile Coasters - will create durable (and wordy) coasters from old game pieces. The program at the Fond du Lac Public Library is free, but space is limited. Sign-up begins March 2 at www.fdlpl.org/calendar or by calling the Help Desk at 920-322-3929.

Crafternoon is a free program every third Saturday with a different make-and-take project each month. It was inspired by a similar program at the New York Public Library that's run by Maura Madden, who wrote, "Crafternoon: A Guide to Getting Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long."

Upcoming projects:

? April 20: Storybook Birdhouses. Using a wooden birdhouse, old children's books and lots of glue, create a one-of-a-kind indoor decoration. Sign-up begins April 6.

? Beaded Garden Stakes. Create an eye-catching ornament for the budding spring garden. Note: This program requires a $2 per person supplies fee. Sign-up begins May 4.

? Leaf Print Stepping Stone. Prepare for messy fun to create a concrete stone with leaf imprint. Sign-up begins June 1.

? Ring Around the Rosey Pincushion. Use fabric scraps to sew a one-of-a-kind pincushion. Sign-up begins July 6.
