Sheboygan woman pleads no contest in 1957 murder case

A 76-year-old Sheboygan woman pleaded no contest Monday to second-degree murder in the 1957 death of her then 9-month-old daughter, Jeaneen, as part of a plea deal reached with prosecutors.

District Attorney Joe DeCecco said that the complicated nature of the case, which must be tried under state statutes that haven't been used for decades, led prosecutors to seek a plea deal.

Under the plea agreement, DeCecco recommended that Ruby Klokow be sentenced to 45 days jail and 10 years probation. The charge carries a maximum 25 years in prison. ...
