De Pere High School's wrestling team had two of its four wrestlers get to the second day of the WIAA Division 1 individual state tournament last week.

Tyler Turriff, a senior who made his second straight appearance in the tournament, had the Redbirds' only victory at University of Wisconsin-Madison's Kohl Center.

Eighth-ranked Turriff (30-11) overpowered third-ranked sophomore Jason Ipsarides of Cedarburg with a technical fall of 23-7 in the first round at 138 pounds Thursday. ...
