Winning a fourth consecutive WIAA Division 3 state title became the goal from the minute Coleman won its third straight title last year.

The only problem was eight state qualifiers that were on the mat when the Cougars won the 2012 championship by a D3-record margin of 59-5 over Spring Valley/Elmwood were going to have to be replaced.

While the Cougars - along with every other program in the state besides Wisconsin Rapids - had never experienced winning four titles in a row under the current format, Mason Mergener knew it could be done because he had seen his team replace a plethora of seniors once ...
