Green Bay Packers' tight end Tom Crabtree's IMDb page includes two titles: Super Bowl XLV, of course, and "Die Noobs," a documentary slated to finish in 2014.

The film, by Emmy-nominated director Erik Cieslewicz, follows two noobs (or novice gamers), Zack Below and Jack Rubek, who set out to win a professional tournament playing "StarCraft 2,'' a role-playing PC video game. They receive crucial insight from top-of-the-line pro gamers, celebrities and athletes from around the world who try to teach them the ways of gaming masters.

"Along the way they discover a gaming ecosystem and community bigger and cooler than anything you could ever imagine," the teaser trailer notes read. "'Die Noobs' will pwn your heart."

That's where Crabtree comes in. He was a self-described "gamer," "rocker" and "winner" even before he became a Packer, and he's agreed to take a featured role in "Die Noobs.''

The documentary starts filming on Saturday at an event at 7 p.m. at Champions Sports Bar, 1007 Tony Canadeo Run, Green Bay, which Crabtree and the film are hosting. The "Die Noobs'' gaming party features unlimited food, drinks and gaming competitions. Cost is $30 at the door or register at www.champions.fireoneout.com. Proceeds benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
