Former Packers defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins will visit the New York Giants on Friday, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

The Philadelphia Eagles cut Jenkins this offseason. He’d been with them for two years.

The Packers are in the market for defensive linemen, and there’s a chance they might be interested in Jenkins also, though that depends on what level they project the 32-year old to play this season. He was the Packers’ best inside pass rusher when healthy for several seasons before he left them in free agency in 2011.

Jenkins had 9 ˝ sacks in two seasons with the Eagles and didn’t miss a game.

The Giants recently cut lineman Chris Canty for age and salary cap reasons, and are looking to replace him. The Packers reportedly are considering signing the 30-year-old Canty, who at 6-feet-7 and 317 pounds has the prototypical build for a defensive end in the 3-4 scheme.
