MADISON - Nolan Kepler scored three goals to lead Verona to a 6-3 victory over Wausau West on Thursday in a quarterfinal game of the WIAA boys hockey tournament.

Verona (26-2) meets Green Bay Notre Dame in a semifinal game at 6 p.m. today.

Verona trailed 3-1 after two periods but scored twice in 26 second early in the third period to tie it. Brogan Baker scored what proved to be the winning goal on a power play 10:13 into the period, and the Wildcats put the game away with Kepler's third goal and an empty-net tally 32 seconds apart with less than 2 minutes left in the game. ...
