The students in Dee Van Der Geest's second-grade classroom at Kate Goodrich Elementary School have two new iPads to use, thanks to community grants.

The iPads and applications were paid for with a Beyond Crayons and Computers Program of the Merrill Area Community Foundation.

Van Der Geest said the devices will help her students learn more about educational technology, and offer an opportunity to build excitement in literacy through electronic stories and other activities.
