Mead Wildlife Area hosts weekend celebration

Just when everyone has reached the peak of boredom from indoor activities this winter, the Mead Wildlife Area has the perfect event to get Wood County residents outside and moving.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, the Mead Wildlife Area is inviting all community members out to its wildlife education center to celebrate Aldo Leopold Weekend. This ninth annual event is sure to bring out wildlife enthusiasts who want to pay homage to Wisconsin's heralded environmentalist, but it also serves a larger purpose in bringing families out to the Mead where they can explore the great outdoors right here ...
